Studio owner Kerry Spear has been a certified Pilates instructor (Polestar International, BodyMind Institute, Balanced Body) and an American Council on Exercise personal trainer in Palo Alto, CA since 2000. She is uniquely able to assess and create appropriate programs for clients of all fitness levels. In addition to Pilates, her teaching credentials include Core Align, Bohdi Suspension, Franklin Method, and Foundation Training. Kerry participated in Balanced Body's “Passing the Torch” year long mentoring program with Tom McCook, and in master classes with Sherri Betz, Eric Franklin, Tom Myers, Eric Goodman, and Brent Anderson, among others.

Kerry is a Nationally Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). She graduated from the prestigious Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching Program at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.

From 2001-2020 Kerry led Healthy Back, Pilates, yoga and walk-fit classes through Stanford University’s Health Improvement Program, Be Well, and Recreation Departments, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

She holds a B.A. in Physics from University of Oregon and M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences from University of Colorado Boulder.
